Update: July. 16 2013 - Working on Custom Flower Child - Custom Order Little Whisper Fairies |

Working on Custom Order Flower Child Boudoir Doll I have been working on a custom doll for about a month now, and she is nearing compeletion. I tried to sculpt a whistful face with natural features. I also painted a realistic style Flower Child features. She will have a demin skirt with a ruffle at the bottom, sculpted brown lace up boots, smooth clay face, emboried vest, and white peasent blouse with embordery. I have attached her hair wich is thick brown locks. She will also be a smoker. I have not finished the joint that will take the place of the cig. in her mouth. She should be around " inches tall. She is very beautful and I have enjoyed having her in my studio :)
The Flower Child will also have a groovy pair of big round orange glasses to cover her eyes. :) I am looking forward to finishing her and seeing what she'll look like all together. Over the weekend I worked on sewing her vest. The above pictures show the finished embroidery. I will be adding the fringe along the bottom soon. The orange silk fabric is only for display she will be wearing a blouse and skirt. |

New Little Whisper: Blue Fairy
This one of a kind Art Doll is part of my Little Whispers series . She is completely hand sculpted and is approx. 11" inches tall with glass eyes. She was created using a strong wire armature, and I have made her arms and legs posable. She wears beautiful blue and black eyeshadow. I have brushed pretty light blue glitter around her eyes and on her face. (looks beautiful in person) Her dress has been hand sewn and cannot be removed.

New Little Whisper I love making these Little Whipsers. They are so much fun, and the small details make them come alive. This little lady has a beautiful embroidered dress with delicate lace (two layered dress), and little yellow buttons, and a beaded necklace. She also wears lace leggings. I have used exquisite purple, and platinum wavy wool locks for her hair. This little Lady is OOAK (one of a kind) hand sculpted and painted. I love her long lashes. She is approx. 11-12" inches tall. |
Cirrus Voyage to her New Home!
I couldn't stand sending Cirrus off in a plan brown box, so I decided to make her a large masonite trunk. I painted the inside so that it matched the theme of Cirrus. I made the hardware using digital software. This trunk was a suprise gift for a talented lady who ordered her! :) ... I am happy to say that Cirrus has made it saftly to her new home! :)

New Little Whispers
This OOAK (one of a kind) Art Doll Fairy is part of my Little Whispers series. She is approx. 11" inches tall (from the top her head to the tip of her toes) with glass eyes. I have made her completely posable body. Her clothes are hand-stitched, hand-dyed, and antiqued and cannot be removed. Her clothing consists of several layers of cream, white, and rose colored fabric. Her clothing is very ornate, and she wears pantalons! :) I have used exquisite platinum wavy wool locks for her hair. This little Lady is OOAK (one of a kind) hand sculpted and painted.
This Little Whipser is approx. 11" inches tall (from the top of her hat to the tip of her shoes) with very large glass eyes. I have made her completely posable body. Her clothes are hand-stitched and cannot be removed. Her lovely skirt is made of beautiful netting, pink fabric, and consists of two layers. I have also made her a large ornate hat that fits perfectly to her head. It has lovely handmade distressed flowers, netting, and faux flower buds. She has beautiful wavy white locks.

Finished Custom Order Flower Child Boudoir Doll Daisy is part of the flower power era that made the 60's a time that changed the consciousness of a generation. This Flower Child is hand sculpted. Her overall size is an amazing 31" inches (78.74 cm). She has clay boots (with tie-up laces), clay head, and hands with a fabric body. She is hand painted with freckles and is one of a kind (OOAK). Her guitar is handmade and painted. She has a daisy garland that is completely hand cut and handmade. Her clothing is also handmade and includes, a hand embroidered fringe vest (is fabric, but painted to simulate leather), and boho blouse with lace inset (flowers on cuffs are handpainted), and hand embroidered 60's inspired flowers. Her jeans are of vintage fabric, and are belled. Her straight long hair is soft and shiny.
Re-Designed Little Floozie
This is coral. She originally was jointed using bands that were rubber. I decided to take her apart and wire her body. I thought that wire would provide less maintenance I also made her a pet.. She is approx. 11" inches tall. She is part of the Little Floozies series. Her arms can bend at the elbows. Her arms and legs are wired button jointed. Her head is hallow. She has a metal rod through her head that extends into her hallow body. This allows her head to tremble, and swivel back and forth. Her little polka doted cat has glass eyes. She looks beautiful displayed.

New Faded Rose Boudoir Doll!
She is the quintessential flapper of the 1920's, dressed for a night on the town. Perhaps an aspiring starlet, looking forward to an evening spent in the company of the rich and famous. Or perhaps a waitress or telephone operator, or store clerk, all dolled up for adventure. Whatever her identity may have been, she belongs to a long ago night in the magic 1920s.
New Little Whisper! This OOAK Art Doll Fairy she is part of my Little Whispers series. She is approx. 10.5" inches tall (from the top her head to the tip of her toes). I have handpainted her glass eyes. Her body is completely posable. Her clothes are hand-stitched and cannot be removed. Her dress is made from a lovely pink dotted swiss fabric (so pretty). I have also made her a little bunny rabbit that is approx. 6" inches tall with glass eyes. I have used exquisite pink, and platinum wavy wool locks for her hair.

Wicked Weather
Thought it would be neat to share some photos of the Winter storm that came through Feb 20-22. Some areas of my backyard had 16 inches of snow. The two huskies had snow much fun! :)

New Miniature Boudoir Doll This is my Newest boudoir doll! She is a Sultry Miniature Boudoir Doll! She is approx. 13" inches. I have used the finest modern, and antique fabric including antique beaded appliqué, trim!
Her arms and legs are wired (completely posable). I have hand dyed the skin tone, and used a similar method as my large Boudoir Dolls. She has lovely platinum blonde wavy mohair, styled into a classic 1920s hairdo.
I have hand sculpted her some lovely shoes from polymer, & permanently attached them to her legs. I have also made her a clay cloche hat that fits perfectly to her head. The hat features antique beading with a beaded trim, & beautiful black feather.
She looks stunning posed on a table, display case, dresser or bed. She has a shawl draped over her shoulders that has fringe attached to the ends.
New Little Whisper Fairies I have also started a New Line of Little Whispers! They have wired completely posable bodies, and large glass eyes. Here are some of my most recent completed Whispers! :)

Listed New Cloud Child Cirrus This is Cirrus a Cloud Child. Just look up on any summer afternoon when the winds are fair and the sky is blue. She's looking down, tearing off cotton candy strips from her cloud balloon and watching them sail across the blue. .
Cirrus is 28" inches tall (other conversions: 71.12cm). Her head is 7" wide, 7" inches high, 5" deep. I have hand-painted her glass sky blue eyes. She has a sculpted cloth face, and cloud like hair. Her hands and feet are clay, and I have painted a blue sky and clouds on her body. I made her a fluffy cloud balloon that has a smile. Her dress is vintage, and I have fitted and repurposed/altered to fit her perfectly.
Cirrus is hand sculpted and took weeks to complete. She is OOAK (one of a kind) creation, and truly is even more beautiful in person. Please keep her out of direct sun light and extreme heat.

Working on New Art Dolls Hi everyone, I just wanted to give you an update. I am currently working on a lot of new creations. Still working on Cirrus, another boudoir doll, and some new cloth dolls. The newest work that I have sculpted is a 1920s apparition. I have completed sculpting her bust, and will be moving on to her arms and legs.
Her head and chest plate is an amazing 9" inches. I truly enjoy making art dolls larger then usual. I made her some grey ghostly eyes, and I painted her skin in layers - giving her a more human like appearance. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me through my Etsy Shop or Email.

Listed New Little Spook Charlotte Saint Claire This little spook art doll is 17" inches tall. Her name is Charlotte Saint Claire. She has white hair and she is covered in realistic handmade moths. Her eyes have been hand-painted and she has long white lashes. Her arms and legs are wired, and can be posed. I used antique lace, and modern antiqued netting. Charlotte is hand-sculpted, hand-painted and OOAK (one of a kind). She was made without the use of any molds.

Two New Mini Spooks This Halloween Cat Spook is 6" inches tall. She is hand-sculpted, OOAK (one of a Kind), and has a wired body and is posable. Her head and paws are is clay, and she is covered in black faux fur. She can stand on her own with the help of her tall.
This Halloween Pumpkin Lady Spook is 7" inches tall. She is hand-sculpted, OOAK (one of a Kind), and has a wired body. Her head hands and legs are clay, and she has a black loop attached to her back for hanging!!

42" Boudoir Doll Details DETAILS
Cloth Art Doll This cloth art doll is 29" inches tall. She wears a lovely ballerina style blue tutu, and outfit. She is signed, dated, with a rose painted on her back.

Sculpting New Art Doll: Cirrus This is my new art doll that I have been working on. I just completed sculpting her hands and feet. She has hand-painted glass eyes, and soft cloudy hair. When completed she will be very large.
New Listings on Etsy Tie-Me-In-Knots Boudoir Doll!! This Boudoir Doll is 31" inches (measurement in other conversions (78.64 cm) (2 ft. 5" inches)). She wears a lace jumper (made of vintage lace). She has a rose painted on her lower back with my signature, date and Faded Rose Factory. She is hand sculpted, hand-painted and one of a kind (ooak). She has cloth hands and feet. These were the everyday boudoir dolls, like the Boudoir Bin Dolls of the 1920s that were sold most everywhere as advertising/novelty dolls. Their legs were drawn up and their arms tied around their legs, to make them more compact. Many of these dolls were not dressed, and patterns were available for clothing.
42" Boudoir Doll Boudoir Doll is 42" inches(measurement in other conversions (106.68 cm) (3 ft. 6" inches)) (includes hat). Clothing was made by the House of LeBarre using the finest modern fabrics. The sequined, and beaded hat is made by Faded Rose Factory. She looks stunning displayed on a dresser or bed. She has a rose painted on her lower back with my signature, date and Faded Rose Factory. She is hand sculpted, hand-painted and one of a kind (ooak). This boudoir doll has a chest plate, and her head does not turn. Sugarplum Baby Art Doll This Sugarplum baby art doll is 25" inches tall. She has large hand-sculpted, hand-painted eyes, and entirely OOAK (one of a kind). Her dignity hands are sculpted from clay and I tried to capture the look of a toddlers hands. I made her a bonnet that has a vintage lace back with blue, and purple ribbon. Her boots are sculpted in a victorian era style. She wears a vintage dress that I fitted to her (I felt that the dress appeared to capture the same era as her boots and bonnet). Her head is constructed so that it can swivel left and right. The head is 5" inches long, and the width of her face is 5" inches. She has a rose painted on her lower back with my signature, date and Faded Rose Factory. She is hand sculpted, hand-painted and one of a kind (ooak). She also has a collectors tag, and edition tag. She is made to resemble the little monster/creature dolls of the 1920s. Occasionally one of these 1920s (monster/creature) dolls turns up on the internet but they are extremely rare and expensive.
Cloth Art Doll This cloth art doll is 28" inches tall. She wears a lovely pink dress with modrn and vintage fabric, pink net, handmade fabric flowers. She is signed, dated on her back. She is hand sculpted and painted. Her outfit is made of lovely vintage and modern fabric. I made her an artist style hat that matches. She has a soft body and her head and hands are made of clay. I styled her blonde hair in a 1920s hairdo, and she has a cigarette hanging from her mouth. She is signed on her lower back.
Mini Spook This Little vampire Spook is 7" inches tall. He is hand-sculpted, OOAK (one of a Kind), and has a wired body and is posable. I has a matching loop to his back so that he can be hung.
Paper Dolls/Cards I will no longer be offering paper dolls or cards in my Etsy shop. I am now able to once again devote full time to my boudoir dolls and art dolls.

New Boudoir Dolls listed on Faded Rose Factory Etsy Shop "The Lady in Black" boudoir doll is 35 inches tall (88.9 cm). She is the first of the Faded Rose Boudoir Dolls to have hand painted glass eyes, painted and made by me (see bottom of picture 5). She is wearing a real 1930s hat that I have resized, and fitted to her head by adding a center cap. I also added some black feathers, and a large red rose.
She has posable arms, thick platinum blonde hair and lovely lush lashes. The Lady in Black's dress has a gathered dropped waist, plated upper bodice, and antique wired beaded brocade design across neck and shoulders, and antique rhinestone button. She wears slippers that have black lace and antique rhinestone buttons.

This lovely boudoir doll is approx. 31" inches with wired. This has glass eyes I painted the Vogue style scene on the front. She has lush lashes, and dark auburn hair. She has purple high-heeled shoes (non-removeable). Her dress is a vintage iridescent fabric ( I believe it might be satin).
Current Work Boudoir Doll & New Spook (large) Tie-me-in-knots-dolls were sold at most variety stores in the 1920s. The bodies of these dolls were often made of pastel fabrics, pink and blues being the most common colors found today. Perhaps the colorful body was intended to take the place of clothing that many lacked. Their long arms and legs were tied in knots and sold from bins where one could dig for the doll they wanted. Hence, the moniker "bin dolls". Back in the day, these dolls were not prized as the Lenci, Gerb, Blossom, and Gherling. Yet today, with their winsome eyes and Mona Lisa smile, cloth hands and feet, they represent the classic boudoir dolls of the 1920s.
This is my version of the Tie-me-in-Knots boudoir doll. I was lucky enough to find some vintage fabric that reminded me of the fabric used for the body of a TMIK doll. I will be offering these dolls scantily clad, and scantily priced soon...
New Spook (large) I have almost completed my new Large Little Spooks face. Her head is 7 inches long, and the width of her face is 6 inches. She has handmade blue eyes, hand-sculpted cloth face. She is made to resemble the little monster/creature dolls of the 1920s.

New Boudoir Doll in Progress This is my studio area. I have several different art pieces that I am currently working on. The 3 main pictures show "The Lady in Black". She is the first of the Faded Rose Boudoir Dolls to have hand painted glass eyes, painted and made by me. I am very excited about how they turned out (see a close-up in picture 1). She is wearing a real 1930s hat that I have resized, and fitted to her head by adding a center cap/crown. I also added some black feather, and a large red rose.
She has posable arms, thick platinum blonde hair and lovely lush lashes. She is wearing a dress that I originally designed for a Loy boudoir doll, but it did not fit the era's style. I am currently working on designing a pattern in a more 30's style for the Loy.
The Lady in Black's dress has a gathered dropped waist, plated upper bodice, and antique wired beaded brocade design across neck and shoulders, and antique rhinestone button. I think that it works perfectly for "The Lady in Black". Cloth Dolls Coming soon... Update: June 28 2012
This is the first of this type I’ve made so far. Hopefully, I’ll have some more ready to go up in August. I’m trying to keep to 20s style,but not many of the cloth dollsare around, so I’m winging it for the most part.

This Little Lady is a total of 13.5 inches. She has black hair with a gold antique headband. She wears a fringe dress that is gathered higher on the side with vintage trim, and a vintage button. She is hand sculpted and ooak (one of a kind). She is made with a wire armature and can be posed. She has a soft torso that is packed tightly, and hand-sculpted boots.She has a long yellow snake that is 17" inches long and wired. The head of the snake is hand-sculpted.

She has a lace under skirt, empire waist dress with vintage lace. She has lovely long blonde hair, and her dress and bonnet have been antiqued. Little Spook - Sleepwalker Celeste the Sleepwalking Ghost - Apparition This little spook art doll is 18" inches tall. She has golden curly hair, upper and lower lashes, hand-painted blue eyes with a glossy finish, hand sculpted head, hands, and feet. Her arms and legs are wired, and she has a painted soft body. She wears a white sleeping cap and a pink night gown (embroidered panel framed with lace) with a repurposed delicately embroidered and pleated vintage cotton robe. Completed New Little Spook This fine art doll is 17" inches tall. She has wavy black hair with blue shimmering strands, and handmade and painted blue eyes. I have wired her arms and legs, and made her a soft body. Her sailors outfit is handmade, and I hand painted the yoke of her dress. I have antiqued her outfit, and added wear to give an effect of being wet. I created a cloth surfaced hat, and shoes. The boats and contents are all handsculpted and I have distress painted them.
Completed New Ellie the Elephant This little lady Elephant is 9" inches tall. She is made of polymer clay with vintage muslin, buttons, and antique lace. She is hand sculpted and ooak. She was made without the use of molds. She is a wonderful artdoll full of character. She can be purchased from my Etsy Shop.

New Faded Rose Youth Doll She is my first attempted at making this type of doll. This sort of doll was popular in the 20s and early 30s. Similar styles of little girls usually wore an expression that told a story: grump, excited, tearful, etc. I think I'll call her Elizabeth. I hope you like her. As you can see Elizabeth is skeptical about this whole thing. This little Lady will be around 20" inches.

She has a lovely thick head of hair. I really love her mouth, and I'm really excited to see how she turns out. I am debating what to dress her in...
I was also sculpting another doll of Myrna Loy. I have finished sculpting the facial features, but won't know if I am happy with my rendition until I paint her eyes and add color to her face. Once I have done that I will post images her.

Bette Davis Boudoir Doll -update Here is my nearly completed Bette Davis Boudoir Doll. She has a 1920s brocade and beaded fabric hat. Vintage fabric drop waist dress with embroidered lower panel. She comes with a leopard print plush coat (coat is by House of LeBarre). I am in the process of designing and making her shoes. She is part of the Faded Dreams Series, and 33.5" inches tall.

Bette Davis Boudoir Doll -update Hi everyone!!! Here she is so far.... I might do some more work on her face, but this gives you an idea of what she will look like when completed.. Dec 14th I finished her wig, and painted her face. I will not be emailing or shipping orders Dec 19th - Jan. 3rd.... I have a lot of things I need to catch-up on. I will ship orders and answer emails/convos after the 3rd. ----------------------------------------------------- 12/13 I have been working on a new Bette Davis Boudoir Doll for a while now. I have almost completed the work on the shaping of her face, and facial features. I will most likely move on to dying and painting her face today. I then will need to finish work on her hands and begin her clothing. I have already found most of the fabric I will use.

Completed New Boudoir Doll!! She is finally completed!!! I was inspired by the spanish type boudoir dolls of the 1920s. Her dress is made with vintage panels similar to the spanish style boudoir dolls. Her high heel shoes are specially made with hard soles with the Faded Rose mark on the bottom. I have permanently attached her hat with some stitches. Her expression is sultry. She has short black waive hair. She has wired arms, and a reinforced torso.

Her persona was created by the studio to make her appear exotic and mysterious and above all marketable. She was actually Theodora Goodman form Chillicothe, but to the movie goers she was Theda Bara, perhaps the original, all time, vamp.

Theda Bara Boudoir Doll in Progress!!!!!! Here is my newest Faded Rose Boudoir Doll.....Theda Bara. :) I've handmade her eyes separately. I tried to create an accurate rendition of her facial features. I finished sculpting her hands, and her Cobra headdress over the weekend, and hope to post her this week (fingers crossed). She will have feet with individual cloth toes similar to my Josephine Baker Boudoir Doll (the one with the banana skirt).

Finished Gypsy Boudoir Doll!!!!!! I finally finished this gypsy lady! I wanted to post her on Nov 1st, but ran into some delays. This lovely lady was worth all the effort, and I am so happy to say that she is completed! :) Her completion date was Halloween night 2011.
I created a gypsy wagon set to take pictures in her naturel environment! Check them out by clicking on the images to the left.
During the 1920s the gypsy caravan, with the brightly painted wagons, and belled ponies, still trekked the bricked streets of towns and villages across America.
Along with the Egyptian influence, gypsies represented an exotic mysterious lifestyle that captured the 1920s imagination. They are subject of much 1920s artwork, and of course, this included some of the premier Boudoir Dolls of the time.
This Gypsy Boudoir Doll wears a tailored white cotton baggie blouse, with golden brown velour vest, with hand stitched gold trim and a hand-stitched rose on the back. Her skirt is brown with golden accents and a brown satiny underskirt. She has a brown matching belt with brown embroidery and tiny bead work. She has a metal belt with dark honey colored jewels. She wears a matching turban with brown embroidery and beads, and a large vintage purple jewel beaded accent. She wears various gold colored chains, charms, bells, and has metal hoop-earrings. Her handmade tambourin fits on her left-hand and can be stored in her golden brown velour shoulder bag. Her arms are wired for posing and a reinforced upper body. As always she is hand sculpted, hand-painted and one of a kind (ooak). DETAILS

Lady Pompadour Masquerade Finished This masquerade Faded Rose is dressed as Madame Pompadour. She comes with a handmade, fitted lady mask (removed at midnight to reveal her true identity). The mask is contoured to her face and fits without support. Headdress is antique fabric delicate, black netting, festooned with tiny black beads. Her gown is black satin with delicate, soft, black net underskirt visible net ruffles. The train is of the same fabrics. The extra fabric of the train looks beautiful when she is displayed. The foaming net makes her a perfect bed adornment. The bodice of her gown is trimmed along the top with antique beaded fabric that matches her headdress. She also wears a matching antique choker. The high fan net collar is repeated on the back of her heels with antique bead accents. Her legs are painted to resemble the footless trouser tights of that era. Her eyelashes are individually inserted and contoured. She has a shaped bustline. Masquerade parties and balls were the place to celebrate the last night of October also known as All Hallows Eve. Among Hollywood's rich and famous this night more than any other represented the glittering, glamourous, mysterious world of make-believe, that was the Hollywood of the 1920s. Many movie stars carried along their boudoir dolls, often dressed in matching costumes, as accessories. Some of the original dolls survive to this day. This is our version, dressed as her owner might have been, for a night of frolic and some say, "Scandalous" fun. Wishing you beautiful memories, Faded Rose Factory :)

Started New Gypsy Boudoir Doll This weekend I set out to finish my Masquerade Boudoir Doll, and work on my Gypsy Boudoir Doll. I finished the sculpting Friday. She has a large grin with individual teeth sculpted in. Sunday morning I painted her features on her face, and styled her hair. Here is the progress so far. She has lovely sculpted cheeks. Mermaid Boudoir Doll -update Here are the scales on the mermaid boudoir doll. The scales are made of vintage lace that has been dyed, and individually cut and attached. The scales get progressively smaller going down her tail. When completed she will be around 40 inches long. I will post more later...

New Boudoir Doll Nearing Completion I have been trying to complete this lady for a couple of weeks now, and believe that I have finally achieved my vision for her headdress. She has a 1920s netted, and beaded headdress, and is wearing a black mask that I have fitted to her head. I am going over the fabric that I had originally chosen, as this is an ever evolving doll. Started Working on a New Boudoir Doll!!! This is the initial stage in the first attempt to create a Mucha style mermaid boudoir doll. She was inspired by a wonderful e-mail. As you can see only her head is completed so far, and there is more styling work to be done with her hair. When completed she will measure around 39 to 40 inches. I'm thinking of incorporating vintage lace from a 1920s dress into her body, but I'm not certain yet what I'll do with her. As always her face is hand sculpted and dyed and painted by yours truly. I want to give her that vintage look. I'm thinking maybe the antique lace will lend a vintage essence.

Update: Sept 16 2011 Revised Boudoir Doll - Update: New Boudoir Doll - A Boudoir Doll RESERVED |

1:22 p.m. Update: Here are the pictures!! Ok everyone here she is.... Doesn't even look like the same Boudoir Doll. I kept the detail of the inset eyes, but I reshaped the eyes, and removed her face and redid it! I re-sculpted her nose, and removed lips, and re-sculpted them. She now has an open mouth. I removed hair and recut into more of a flapper style. The hands and feet have been redone. She is not finished. I have several things that I need to do before I list her.
----------------------------------------------------- 10:00 a.m. Update: Great news! I think that I will be able to get pictures up of the revised boudoir doll. She is not finished, but because of the lovely emails I wll try and get some up today!!! ----------------------------------------------------- Revised Boudoir Doll from 2010 I am almost done with a revision on one of my boudoir dolls. She has a very French appearance. I hope to list her in the next few days.... so keep an eye on this page because you will be pleasantly surprised!!!

Hi Everyone! This is the new boudoir doll that I have been working on.... I finished her body this weekend. She is 32 inches tall, and she has a finished flesh ton cloth chest plate. She reminds me of an Ette (Elliette) or Blossom boudoir doll of the 1920s. She has a beehive hairdo, and black inset eye lashes. The American born Parisian entertainer danced in the Follies, performed all over the world and appeared in movies in the 20's. She is a popular subject for many doll makers. This Faded Rose Boudoir Doll is the first with this unique construction. She has a cloth body with breasts. The sculptured breasts are made of fabric, and the seams are hidden. She is hand sculpted, hand painted and has black Floss hair in her 1920s hair style. She has individual toes similar to the artists boudoir dolls of the 1920s. Her overall size is 27.5" inches. Her body is painted sanded and sealed (it gives character). She wears a banana skirt, each banana is individually made. She wears necklaces that are stiffened to keep shape. New Flapper Boudoir Doll!!! - part of the Faded Dreamsn series!!! Here she is!!! I have been working on her for weeks! I think that I will list her on Ebay, but I am not sure yet....The beaded inset once accented an actual 1920s flapper dress. The original dress was too far gone to be salvaged but the bead work lives on to grace the dress and shoes of a new flapper from another place and time (headband in modern). She is a overall length of 31" inches (78.74 cm). She wears a black A-line dress, and black stockings.

Update: July 26 2011 Halloween Witch Boudoir Doll Completed!!!!! |

Speical Halloween Witch Completed I'm dreaming of autumn and that means Halloween. I especially remember trick or treating on the full moon Halloweens. The wind blowing crunchy leaves across the streets and sidewalks, ghosts swishing in the trees, craved jack-o-laterns on porches and the smell of wood smoke from fire places. Our town goes all out for the kids on Halloween.
I found the vintage fabric for the witch dress in my great grandmothers trunk. The trunk was full of antique handmade laces and vintage fabrics. Most of these things were stored away during the depression years when every scrap was saved. I'm not sure the fabrics is from the 20s as it is in very good condition. The whole trunk smells of camphor so no moths have feasted on the contents. I am certain the fabrics is vintage... I just don't know how vintage.
This autumn rose is ready for the bewitching Spell of Halloween. Her dress is made of vintage fabric and may have actually been incorporated into a vintage Halloween costume. She is one of the most vintage looking dolls I've made so far.

Update: July 20 2011 New Halloween Witch Boudoir Doll in Progress |

Speical Halloween Witch -coming soon..... This is my new creation. She is a Special Halloween Witch Boudoir Doll OOAK (one of a kind). She is still a work in progress. She will have antique style halloween silhouettes painted on her orange skirt. She has an orange and black corset (not pictured). Pleated upper dress. She will have 1920s style witch boots, and felt cuffs that will extended to her black gloves.
Over all size so far is 35.5 inches (including hat) without hat she is 31.5 inches. She is a cloth face with classic 1920a style features, and a smiling open mouth. The fabric used is vintage and antique. The fabric looks old, and has a few holes and scuffs, but is strong and gives a real 1920s look!!!!! I really love her look so far and will be difficult to list on Etsy when the time comes. If you would like more information please feel free to email or convo me.

They were worth the time and effort, and I love how they turned out, hope the collector does too!! Mabel Normand is one of my favorite silent screen stars, so this was a fun order for me. :) By a strange coincidence I had just completed a painting of Mabel Normand (for my self) when I received this custom request.

New Flower Child I spent all night finishing this Flower Child. She has lovely inset hand painted eyes. She is had sculpted and hand painted by me!
The flower child and hippie generation were the culture shock equivalent to the establishment just as the flapper and vamp were to the 20's generation. This Flower Child is hand sculpted with inset handpainted eyes. She is 29" inches (73.66 cm) long. She has a clay head, hands, and boots with a muslin body. There were a few types of boudoir dolls that reflected the highest craftsmanship and beauty. These dolls were never found in bins or tossed carelessly in drawers. They were displayed in store front windows and display cases. These were the royalty of the boudoir doll world with price tags to match their status.
This Faded Rose version of the premier boudoir dolls of the 1920s & 30s is hand created and painted to resemble one of these creations. Her beautiful gown is by the House of LeBarre.

New Boudoir Doll-Finished Here is my New Boudoir Doll I finished last night. About Her...... The Jazz age catapulted many unknown artists into the spotlight, but none so beautiful and independent as the muliti-talented Josephine Baker. She was the gossamer fabric of which dreams are made. Many early boudoir dolls were made in her likeness. Perhaps a doll very much like this one perched on the edge of her dressing table, a silent witness to the unfolding of the legend.

New Head!! Here is my new creation! Soon her clothing will be arriving in the mail!!! I am so very excited! This head looks like a true 1920s boudoir doll. I have created a process that will simulate the look of felt without the deterioration of felt! I have made her an Antique style 1920 headdress, with a split open back.

New Head Mae Murray!! My Internet connection was down yesterday. :( Sorry if I missed your convo's, and emails. I had the opportunity to work on some custom work, a few works in progress and this new boudoir doll head.
I was inspired by the screen lengend Mae Murray. This new Faded Rose boudoir doll head has a side glance making her look like something or someone has caught her attention. I think she looks like a real antique boudoir doll that has been stored away from time. I have been thinking about making her some delicate posed cloth hands like some of the more highly coveted boudoir dolls, but I am unsure. Finished Faded Rose Boudoir Doll!! Rainy, gray, weekend - Finally finished! I made patterns for the Sun hat and shoes. I'm always amazed when they actually turn out like I imagined. The skirt of the dress is a seamless circle and was almost impossible to attach to the waist. I won't be doing that again! --- Although part of the "Faded Dreams" series, Mary Pickford was never the typical star, never the flapper or the vamp. She was the perpetual ingénue of the silent screen, often depicted with long golden sausage curls. The actual star played a child in movies well into her twenties. She was the innocent, chaste, forever young, star of the melodrama. The most popular star of the twenties and the object of many a screen villains evil intent. She was the model for many early dolls and is dressed in the quintessential Bed Doll garb of the earliest Boudoir Dolls. New Harlequin Doll In Progress - I have been working on a new doll! It is in the Faded Dreams Series. He is made of the finest materials and is hand-painted and sculpted by me. I wanted a dreamy expression . I am still in the process of making his clothing and finishing the sculpting process on the hands. This is the first Harlequin that I have made. He will be very large, and would look great in any collection.

Descriptions of dress designs A: White Lace over a Long sleeve tan under-dress. accented with a earthy trim
B: Long Sleeve tan low waist dress, with earthly trim around the waist neck, cuffs and the around the bottom of the layered dress
C: Lace long sleeve dress with the under-dress meeting the bottom of the overdress
D: Tan flapper dress with lowered waist, with a layered angled skirt
E: Tan dress with a gathered attached scarf with a lace cuff and a lace bottom on dress, and a beaded belt
F: Tan dress with no sleeved with earthy trim around sleeve openings, and around the dress with a smooth ascent, with a lace long sleeve dress that show

New Doll - Email/Convo if you wish to be contacted on listing day - I have been working on a new doll! I really love the way that she is turning out. She is another Faded Dreams Series doll. I have taken my inspiration from the Screen darling Mary Pickford. The Boudoir Doll has golden Hair that is fixed in the Mary Pickford Style. She has blue eyes and a very light complexion, and ruby red lips.

Custom Order: Hatstand Finished Finished!!!! Turned out great! The Completed hatstand has a red and black painted base with my signature and Faded Rose Factory also painted on the base. I wanted a lacquered look with a flapper 1920s design. It has a floral Art Nouveau Style, with decorative swirls. The top of the stand is painted like the bud of a flower below the top it has another art Nouveau style decoration.
The Head of the Hatstand It has a cloche hat that is distressed to create age with vintage lace, and two vintage buttons. The Face is hand sculpted with a cloth overlay. It is hand dyed and painted. She has a small detail at the base of the neck that I wanted to resemble a collar of a flapper dress. I have added trim to the top and bottom of the collar and a decorative element with a vintage button. The trim matches the trim of the hat rim. It also has a felt bottom to protect table top surfaces. Progress on a New Doll Here is my New Boudoir Doll that I have been working on. I completed the head on Jan. 2. I just finished work on her hair last night. I wanted a Antique appearence. Each set of locks have been individually placed and styled by me. She has a vintage plastic or celluloid flower attached to her hair on the side of her head.
She is wearing a temp dress. I will have more pictures posted sometime later.. I think that I will start a Debutant Ball Series. Many debutants were given boudoir dolls as "coming of age gifts."
